Jeff Utecht just posted this cool idea using Google to create digital stories and learn search skills at the same time. Students would need to utilize a screen capture program such as Jing (download required) or Screentoaster (no download)

SSLA ConferenceThe SSLA Conference was held May 5, 2010 in Saskatoon. The theme was Blended School Library Practice: Integrating Your Virtual and Real Programs. Judith Comfort, teacher-librarian at Dr. Charles Best Secondary School in Coquitlam, B.C., blogger and advocate for the role of teacher-librarians shared with conference participants her journey of blending her bricks and mortar library with her virtual one. Donna DesRoches and Carlene Walter facilitated an Inquiry Tools Smackdown - social media tools that promote and enhance inquiry. The annual SSLA awards and bursary were also presented to the following worthy participants:
