The MediumThe Medium, a publication of the Saskatchewan School Library Association, is designed to provide information of a professional development nature applicable to school library personnel. While promoting a Saskatchewan voice, The Medium provides scholarly information and resources designed to engender literacy in the province and abroad. The Medium is published in digital form SSLA NewslettersThe SSLA newsletter provided timely industry information relevant to today's school library personnel delivered via the convenience of email. Newletter publication stopped in the summer of 2009. ConnectionsConnections: Policy and Guidelines for School Libraries in Saskatchewan (2008) [pdf] a document published by the Ministry of Education describes the contributions of school libraries to student learning and presents a renewed vision for school libraries in the province. It is based on research and is intended to provide assistance to school divisions and school staff in planning for effective school libraries that will meet the needs of students and teachers into the future.
Standards for the 21st-Century LearnerThe American Association of School Librarians has launched Standards for the 21st-Century Learner. This document affirms the importance of school libraries, and reinforces the significance of information literacy skills.
